We are excited to continue expanding our programs at Heritage Commons in 2023! Members can choose from events and activities like dances, supper club, cards, fitness classes, music lessons and more.
Members and non-members alike are welcome to join in the following activities during the month of February:
Caregivers Group
Our Caregiver Support Group is a place to learn more about caregiving (for various types of conditions), get and give emotional support, and share experiences. Facilitated by a team from Oaklawn Hospital, the group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 3:00pm at Heritage Commons. No need to RSVP, this group is open to both members and non-members at no charge.
Cooking Classes
Please sign up at the front desk or by calling (269) 558-6150 so we can plan for enough supplies for all participants. Free for members, $10 each for non-members.
February 7 at 4:30pm – Valentine’s Cookie Decorating – Try your hand at a new cookie decorating technique…watercolor! Heart shaped sugar cookies will be provided, we will learn how to make Royal Icing and edible watercolor dyes. Everyone will decorate and take home a dozen Valentine’s cookies.
February 28 at 4:30pm – No Knead Breads – Have you ever wanted to master homemade artisan breads? Real, crusty, chewy, delicious, bakery-style loaves that taste incredible with dips, soups, sauces, and comforting dinners? This class will teach you beginner techniques with no kneading or dough starter required! We will make and sample: Honey Oat Bread, Cranberry Walnut Bread, Cinnamon Raisin Bread, and Muesli Bread.

February 8 at 3:00pm – Quilling with Kathy – Make a beautiful butterfly out of pre-cut strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together into this decorative design. Perfect for a greeting card or a fun decoration to add to a potted plant!
February 9 at 2:00pm – Night Sky Painting with Meagan – Join us to play with watercolors and paint the night sky. This will be a step-by-step process, all experience levels welcome!
February 15 at 3:00pm – Button Pins with Rickie – Make a beautiful brooch out of buttons! Bring your own buttons if you wish, or we will have plenty available for you to choose from!
February 16 at 2:00pm – Coffee Mug Painting with Meagan – This project is inspired by a lazy cup of coffee. We will draw and experiment with oil pastels. This will be a step-by-step process, all experience levels welcome!
