Hearing & Vision

What are HearWell and SeeWell?

The HearWell and SeeWell programs provide free eye exams, glasses, hearing exams, and hearing aids to qualified Calhoun County residents, aged 60 years and over.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility screening services are available at CareWell Services’ offices at the Kool Family Center in Battle Creek.

Individuals are asked to provide the following items at the screening:

  • Proof of age and Calhoun County residency with Driver’s License or State ID card
  • Proof of income by showing check stub, tax return, bank statements, Social Security income statement
  • Copies of all insurance cards, such as Medicare, Medicaid, VA, Part D, Medigap, Medicare Advantage or others

 

Battle Creek Hearing, Oaklawn Audiology, America’s Best Vision, and Albion EyeCare are partnering as the providers for services.

The HearWell and SeeWell programs are funded in part by the Calhoun County Senior Millage.

Policy Board Meeting Notice

Region 3B Area Agency on Aging, DBA CareWell Services Southwest, is seeking input from the public about the needs of and available services for seniors in Barry and Calhoun counties as a part of its FY 2024-2025 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) with the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports, Behavioral and Physical Health and Aging Services Administration, MDHHS. All interested parties are invited to provide input into the development of the AIP at the following public hearings.

 
Members of the public do not need to attend the public hearing to provide input.  Comments will be accepted through June 7, 2024. Written input will also be accepted in person, by letter, or email sent to the agency’s main office.
