Senior Centers

CareWell provides support and programming to Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center in Marshall, Forks Senior Center in Albion, and the Kool Family Community Center in Battle Creek.

Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center

Heritage Commons is a welcoming space that empowers older adults to be stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights. Opportunities are regularly available for seniors to expand their horizons, make new friends, and connect with lifelong passions. Popular activities include Euchre, arts & crafts, and Lunch & Learns on various topics relevant to people 60 and older.

Forks Senior Center

Forks Senior Center provides a gathering place for active seniors over 60 to maintain and improve their physical, mental, and social wellbeing. Activities offered by Forks involve a wide selection geared towards promoting healthy lifestyles.

Kool Family Community Center

The Kool Family Community Center is home to CareWell Services’ business offices, as well as our BeWell Workshops for seniors. CareWell programs offered at the Kool Family Community Center are open to the community without a membership. In addition to CareWell programming, the Kool Family Community Center houses a fitness center as well as other activities for senior members such as billiards and cards.

Policy Board Meeting Notice

Region 3B Area Agency on Aging, DBA CareWell Services Southwest, is seeking input from the public about the needs of and available services for seniors in Barry and Calhoun counties as a part of its FY 2024-2025 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) with the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports, Behavioral and Physical Health and Aging Services Administration, MDHHS. All interested parties are invited to provide input into the development of the AIP at the following public hearings.

 
Members of the public do not need to attend the public hearing to provide input.  Comments will be accepted through June 7, 2024. Written input will also be accepted in person, by letter, or email sent to the agency’s main office.
