CareWell Services Southwest Announces New Planning Director, Heritage Commons Manager

CareWell Services Southwest is pleased to announce Jen Rice as the new Planning Director of the agency and Cassie Lucas-Moore as the new Manager at Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center in Marshall.

Rice has worked for CareWell Services for six years, serving as Manager at Heritage Commons for the last four years. She began that role just three months before Heritage Commons opened at its new location in the Marshall Plaza.

“Jen has done an incredible job overseeing the launch of Heritage Commons’ new facility and its growth since then,” said Stacy Wines, CEO of CareWell Services. “We are excited to see her continue to use her skills, experience, and passion for serving seniors as CareWell’s Planning Director.”

Since the center’s opening, Rice has led the center to expand from 120 members to over 500, increased weekly programming, and brought in fun fitness options such as cardio drumming and line dancing for members to enjoy.

“I am excited to keep the momentum we’ve built at Heritage Commons going and bring that into my new role at CareWell to serve and improve the lives of seniors all over Barry and Calhoun counties,” said Rice.

Rice will continue to oversee and support the operations of the center under incoming manager, Lucas-Moore, whose promotion comes after three and a half years on the CareWell Services team.

“Cassie’s enthusiasm for the work of our mission has been evident from day one,” said Wines. “Her dedication to improving the lives of seniors and caregivers in our community will be an asset to Heritage Commons.”

In her previous role as Community Living Coordinator, Lucas-Moore assisted community members in understanding and enrolling in Medicare, as well as counseling them on various options for home and community based services. She will continue to offer these services in her new role at Heritage Commons.

“I look forward to working with the members of Heritage Commons to continue building on the programming that Jen has worked so hard to develop,” said Lucas-Moore. “I’m excited to get to know the members and continue serving them through our programs.”

CareWell Services provides management, financial support, and programming to Heritage Commons. The organization serves seniors, adults with disabilities, and caregivers in Barry and Calhoun counties, ensuring they have access to information, services, and programs that promote health, independence, and choice.

“We are confident that Jen and Cassie will excel in their new positions,” said Wines. “They, as well as the rest of our staff, are an integral part of delivering on our mission and caring for our community.”
