What is the HomeSafe PERS Program?

Caregiver helping senior woman

The HomeSafe PERS (Personal Emergency Response System) program helps to directly address the need for increasing the safety and independence of seniors allowing them to more effectively age in place. The HomeSafe PERS provides Barry and Calhoun County seniors access to a medical alert pendant so they can obtain emergency services in the case of a medical emergency, fall, or other safety risk. HomeSafe PERS provides peace of mind and confidence for seniors. It is most often the first service seniors seek to support their continued independence and it is frequently the service that can save their lives.

HomeSafe PERS assures that seniors have an immediate, accessible connection to life saving medical response and emergency services. By ensuring that seniors have this access, it helps ensure continued safety and independence, both which provide dignity for seniors aging in place. Local monitoring and oversight provides assurance that seniors are not provided a pendant and then left on their own. CareWell Services works closely with the vendor providing ongoing monitoring of the quality and effectiveness of the service, to ensure the pendants remain in working order, are tested regularly and that documentation on first points of contact are kept up to date.
