SENIORS COUNT 2020

Updated 3/25/2020 – Our previously scheduled Seniors Count! events have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are working to reschedule the events. As updates are available, we will post them here and on our Facebook page.

You should have received your access code and survey in the mail. If you need any assistance, call us at 269-441-0930. Door-to-door census takers will not be out until later in May. If someone comes to your door claiming to be from the Census Bureau, do not give them any information. Learn more about staying safe from Census scams by downloading the document below.

CareWell Services, your Area Agency on Aging, is excited to partner with local efforts to ensure that Calhoun County SENIORS COUNT! for the upcoming 2020 U.S. Census.

The U.S. Census counts everyone in the United States every 10 years. Census results help determine how more than $675 billion in federal funds are distributed each year to support vital health, housing, education, transportation, employment, and senior services right here in Calhoun County.

As Calhoun County continues to see an increase in the number of older adults in our community, your participation is more important than ever! Filling out the new nine-question Census form is quick, easy, and always confidential, and it helps you, your family and neighbors in important ways.

Policy Board Meeting Notice

Region 3B Area Agency on Aging, DBA CareWell Services Southwest, is seeking input from the public about the needs of and available services for seniors in Barry and Calhoun counties as a part of its FY 2024-2025 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) with the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports, Behavioral and Physical Health and Aging Services Administration, MDHHS. All interested parties are invited to provide input into the development of the AIP at the following public hearings.

 
Members of the public do not need to attend the public hearing to provide input.  Comments will be accepted through June 7, 2024. Written input will also be accepted in person, by letter, or email sent to the agency’s main office.
