Senior Valentine’s Dance will be hosted by Albion High School Alumni Association, NAACP and Forks Senior Center

The Albion Alumni Association, NAACP, and the Forks Senior Center are hosting a Valentine’s Dance on February 14, 2020, from 7 to 10 pm. The dance is open to area residents, aged 60 and older, and will be held in the cafeteria of the Marshall Opportunity High School (formerly Albion High School) at 225 Watson Street in Albion.

“We want older adults from our community to come out and have fun,” said Eddie Williams, one of the dance organizers.

The cost for the dance is $5 per person, payable at the door. Music will be provided by local DJ, Tim McDowell, and will include a nice mix of oldies and more contemporary dance tunes.

“You can come to the dance by yourself, with a group of friends, or as part of a couple. It will be an enjoyable evening, with dancing, refreshments, laughter, and the chance to interact with old friends and make new ones,” said Jennifer Garvin, another event organizer.

The three organizations are excited to work together to host the dance for area residents.

“Albion is really fortunate to have these great organizations that work so well together and truly care about our community,” said Luann Sommers, Forks Senior Center Director.  “If you’re 60 or older and live in the area, I hope you’ll put on your dancing shoes and come to our dance for an enjoyable evening.”
